As the XVIII edition of the SW Rendezvous draws to a close, it’s time to cheer the winners-that is everyone- and look back fondly on five days of pure pleasure.

The event concluded at sea with the SW105 Kiboko and the brand new SW96 Liberty challenging themselves along the day’s approximately 25nm-long course, adding some spectacular sailing action. In the end it was Liberty that crossed the finish line first winding up her new owner’s Rendezvous debut in the best possible way. SW82 Grande Orazio performed well, pushing to the very end with their usual highly competitive spirit. SW100 Padma and SW96 Nyumba also kept their friendly challenge up right to the end.

Back in port, it was time to debrief and get ready for the prize-giving ceremony. Kiboko Tres and her new owner took home the Best Boat Handling award, while recognition for Best Boat Performance went to Liberty. Nyumba was awarded for her Best Interpretation of the Rendezvous Spirit while the Willy Persico Trophy went to Padma II. In the racing fleet the RP-Nauta100 Morgana was in the second step of the podium having placed first on corrected time in Day 1 and second the following days.

As owners and their yachts prepare to set sail for the summer season, we at Southern Wind are already looking forward to our next event together, which will be held in Ibiza during the Ibiza Joy Sail (19-22 September 2024). Three Southern Wind Yachts have already registered, and we expect many more to come.

The Southern Wind Team wishes to thank all of the Rendezvous participants, Giorgio Armani, the YCCS and our official partners, Doyle Sails, Pantaenius, Hall Spars and Pardo Yachts for making this event truly unforgettable.
