Since their inception in 2019, U-Boat Worx's Cruise Sub series has redefined underwater exploration, becoming the gold standard for private clients and the cruise industry. To date, the Cruise Subs have completed an astounding 5,000 dives, showcasing their exceptional durability and operational capability.

Over the past five years, U-Boat Worx has firmly established itself as the de facto supplier for the cruise industry. The rising demand for unique and immersive underwater experiences has led more cruise companies to choose U-Boat Worx submarines for their proven track record.

The demand for the Cruise Sub Series reflects the cruise industry's shift towards offering extraordinary experiences. By integrating U-Boat Worx submarines into their itineraries, cruise companies provide guests with unparalleled underwater adventures, all while prioritising their safety and comfort.

Roy Heijdra, Marketing Manager of U-Boat Worx, emphasised the significance of this achievement: "Reaching the milestone of having nearly 25,000 people dive inside a Cruise Sub is monumental for us and a testament to our mission of making the oceans accessible to everyone. Having a network of nearly 300 professionals who can operate them reflects our dedication to not only advancing underwater technology but also ensuring that our submarines are operated by highly skilled professionals. This is what sets us apart in the industry."

To demonstrate that their vessels are constructed to the most advanced and rigorous standards in the maritime world, U-Boat Worx works from design through to production with the world’s leading classification society, DNV. Andreas Fischer, Pressure & Underwater Technology team at DNV Maritime in Hamburg speaks about the longstanding relationship: “Over 10 years we have enjoyed a very successful cooperation, ensuring that more than 50 submersibles have achieved compliance with the relevant international regulations and DNV rules. It has been a pleasure to work with the team from U-Boat Worx and we are proud to have been the class partner for so many of these vessels, in operation all around the world in many different conditions. We congratulate U-Boat Worx on reaching this milestone and look forward to many more years to come.”

The submarines have consistently demonstrated their reliability, earning the trust and loyalty of cruise operators worldwide. Integral to this success is the comprehensive training program U-Boat Worx offers. To date, they have trained nearly 300 chief pilots who are now equipped to operate submersibles across various roles in the industry.

The Cruise Subs also serve as valuable tools for new discoveries. Bryn Spencer, Chief Submersible Pilot, shares his experience: "While diving the Cruise Sub and being among the first humans to discover unexpected life deep in the fjords of Chile, I encountered a huge, bright orange anemone resting peacefully in the sand. As we safely returned to the surface, we were treated to a stunning symphony of bioluminescence."

Looking ahead, U-Boat Worx remains committed to advancing underwater exploration technology. The relentless focus on innovation, safety, and reliability continues to drive the success and the confidence that the cruise industry places in U-Boat Worx.

In summary, U-Boat Worx's Cruise Sub series stands as a beacon of excellence in underwater exploration. With a proven history of safety and reliability, the submarines are the preferred choice for cruise operators aiming to offer unforgettable underwater journeys. As they celebrate five years of success and 5,000 dives, U-Boat Worx is dedicated to continuing their journey of innovation and trust, ensuring their submarines remain the pinnacle of the industry.
