Luna Rossa confirms its partnership with Siemens for the 38th America’s Cup
The collaboration addresses key workflows and integrated digital engineering technologies
Luna Rossa and Siemens have expanded their digital engineering partnership ahead of the 38th America’s Cup. The collaboration will support the team in managing increasingly complex engineering workflows and accelerating decision-making across simulation, structures, systems and technical development.
Through the wider adoption of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio, Luna Rossa will connect key areas such as data management, requirements traceability, advanced simulation, system modeling and structural optimization within a more integrated digital engineering environment.
The partnership will help the team explore technical options earlier, improve the connection between simulation and engineering data, and support faster, more informed development decisions as preparations continue for the next America’s Cup campaign.
«Developing a competitive yacht means managing complexity across many engineering domains while continuously refining performance», said Gilberto Nobili, Technology & Operations Director at Luna Rossa. «By expanding our collaboration with Siemens and adopting a wider set of technologies to drive our innovation, we can strengthen our digital engineering foundation and support the team as we prepare for the next America’s Cup».
«High‑performance sailing presents many of the same challenges faced by leading manufacturers», said Franco Megali, vice president and CEO for Italy, Israel and Greece, Siemens Digital Industries Software. «By expanding our collaboration with Luna Rossa, Siemens brings together advanced digital engineering technologies to support innovation under some of the world’s most demanding performance conditions».
