Pershing GTX90: the new 90-footer that advances the GTX philosophy

The technical specifications already reveal much of the design philosophy behind the new Pershing GTX90. Twin MAN V12 engines, each delivering 2,200 mhp, transmit power through a pair of Castoldi TurboDrive 600 HCT waterjets, a propulsion package that, according to the shipyard’s preliminary figures, enables a top speed of 35 knots and a cruising speed of 30 knots. The yacht is being developed to achieve CE Design Category A certification—the highest classification under European recreational craft regulations, intended for offshore navigation in severe sea conditions, including winds exceeding Beaufort Force 8 and significant wave heights above four metres. Among the optional equipment available are twin Seakeeper NG18 gyroscopic stabilisers.

These figures introduce a yacht designed to combine high performance with enhanced safety standards, while placing particular emphasis on space management, the defining feature of the GTX range. With the GTX90, Pershing further expands its Sport Utility Yacht family by demonstrating that onboard comfort is achieved not simply by increasing dimensions, but through the careful optimisation of both interior and exterior volumes.

First unveiled at boot Düsseldorf, the project is the result of a collaboration between Vallicelli Design and the Group’s Engineering Department. Development took place at Ferretti Group’s Moulds and Plugs facility, where advanced engineering and traditional craftsmanship were brought together throughout the construction process.

Space is arguably the feature that best defines the new Pershing GTX90. This is particularly evident on the 33-square-metre sportsbridge, which the shipyard states is 43% larger than the average for yachts in the same size category. Rather than functioning as a conventional sport flybridge, it becomes a dedicated outdoor deck organised into three distinct functional areas.

The aft section is devoted to sunbathing, while the central area accommodates an al fresco dining space protected by a generously sized hardtop. Forward, a centrally positioned helm station completes the layout, creating a clear separation between functions without compromising the continuity of the overall space. The same design philosophy extends to the main deck. The most distinctive feature is the pair of fold-down side terraces, which expand the cockpit to a total area of 37 square metres. Unlike the previous GTX models, opening the terraces allows the yacht’s maximum beam to coincide with the cockpit itself, significantly increasing the usable outdoor living space aft. Beneath this area, the garage is designed to accommodate both a tender and a personal watercraft.

The exterior styling remains consistent with the design language introduced across the GTX series. The hull retains Pershing’s signature Anniversary Silver livery, while the almost vertical bow, together with the continuous, gently convex sheer line, creates a sleek profile that preserves the brand’s unmistakable sporting character. The interior layout follows the same principle of continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces. Access to the saloon is through a five-panel glass door—one fixed and four sliding sections—which allows the cockpit and interior living area to merge into a single open-plan environment.

The widebody superstructure maximises the available beam. To port, the layout features a show kitchen complemented by an elegant bar counter, while the starboard side accommodates a formal dining table seating up to eight guests. Amidships, the lounge area includes a large L-shaped sofa, which can be replaced on request with two independent sofas. Forward, the helm station features three seats and direct access to both side decks.

The lower deck offers accommodation for eight guests in four en suite cabins. The full-beam owner’s suite is positioned amidships, taking advantage of the yacht’s maximum beam, while the VIP cabin is located forward. The layout is completed by two guest cabins, one double and one twin, designed to make the most efficient use of the available interior volume.

With the GTX90, Pershing continues to refine its interpretation of the Sport Utility Yacht. While remaining faithful to the styling language established by the GTX range, the new model further develops its core principles, placing particular emphasis on generous outdoor spaces, seamless transitions between onboard areas, and a balance between performance and onboard comfort that defines the entire GTX family.
