Custom Line launches the first Saetta 128 in Ancona
Custom Line launched the first Saetta 128 on 30 September at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona, where the yacht was built in full. The made-to-measure planing tri-deck measures 39.80 metres overall with a maximum beam of 7.69 metres and stays below 300 GT. According to the builder, three units of the model have already been sold.
The Saetta 128 extends the Saetta line, the brand's range of planing yachts. SY Design, the studio of Matteo Sassone and Veronica Yien, drew the exterior in its first project with Custom Line. ACPV Architects Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel signed the interior architecture. The Custom Line Atelier worked on defining and developing the interiors. Sassone and Yien attended the launch, as did Chiara Massarani for ACPV.
On the main deck, a 33-square-metre aft deck leads into the 40-square-metre main saloon, which incorporates the dining area. The owner's suite sits forward, with a dressing room, en suite bathroom and full-height windows. The upper deck has a sky lounge of about 20 square metres opening onto a 40-square-metre aft terrace. Forward on the same deck, a 25-square-metre area holds a U-shaped sofa with built-in storage and a sunpad. This area can also take a whirlpool tub. The sundeck adds 30 square metres of open space with sunpads and furniture that can be customised. There is a beach club at the stern.
The lower deck has four cabins, three VIP and one guest, for ten guests. A Pullman bed raises the total to eleven. Crew quarters for six, including the captain, are forward on the lower deck.
This first hull has the Perfect Mood interior scheme: lacquers in chocolate and mocha tones, walnut and maple, white marbles including Sivec, and ivory wallcoverings with a three-dimensional texture. Furniture stands on suspended bases, and screen-printed glazing on the saloons shapes the exterior profile.
Power comes from two MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines rated at 2,638 mhp each. Preliminary figures from the builder give a top speed of 22 knots and a cruising speed of 19 knots. The yacht can be certified to IMO Tier III with an SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system. The company says this system cuts nitrogen oxide emissions by up to 70%.
