Baltic Yachts’ double success at the World Superyacht Awards

At the World Superyacht Awards in Venice on 4 May, Zemi won the Sailing Yachts 30m to 39.9m Award against a strong and wide-ranging field of other nominees, including Raven. Baltic Yachts was the only shipyard with two yachts nominated in that category.

Delivered in summer 2023, Zemi is a notably stylish and fast family cruising yacht commissioned by experienced sailors. She is designed, built and optimised to provide the perfect platform for a young, active family who want to enjoy long-distance, independent sailing and adventure.

Two key themes in Zemi’s concept are the ability to operate in both warm and cold cruising grounds with equal efficiency, and making the best possible use of the latest developments in environmentally friendly technology. Her interior is also notable – a masterpiece of modern design. The judges noted her “stunning looks” with excellent sailing performance and eco-friendly attributes.

Highly commended in the same award category, the Baltic 111 Raven is a game-changing superyacht in a class of her own, with a highly original concept – the first ever to use America’s Cup-style T-foils to support a large proportion of her displacement under sail. The full extent of her performance is a closely guarded secret, but it’s safe to say Raven is easily the fastest monohull superyacht currently afloat. The judges contended that Raven was an “extremely innovative” and “unusual boat” that deserved an award for “pushing the boundaries” of yacht design.

Baltic Yachts has a remarkable track record of success in superyacht industry awards, with 32 major awards won in the last 12 years alone. These include awards for exterior and interior design, naval architecture, innovation and eco footprint, as well as five Sailing Yacht Of The Year awards, 10 Best In Size Category awards.

Some of the shipyard’s most notable award winners in recent years include Hetairos, Ravenger (ex-Pink Gin VI), Path, Canova, My Song, Perseverance, Nikata, Liara, Win Win and Inukshuk. Overall, 90 per cent of Baltic yachts that were nominated for awards went on to win them.
