A tender is not simply a service boat. It is the calling card of a yacht, the first point of contact between the vessel and the sea, an extension of the owner’s identity. Starting from this belief, Fabbrica Italiana Motoscafi has decided to enter one of the most technical and selective segments of luxury boating, launching its own Tender Division dedicated to the superyacht world.

The first model to inaugurate the new range is the TT9 Open, a 9.40-metre tender built with a carbon composite hull, designed to operate as a chase boat, guest tender or independent day boat, with construction standards consistent with the requirements of the superyacht segment.

Founded in 2019 in Cividate al Piano, near Bergamo, FIM has established itself over the years as one of the most dynamic companies in the Italian boating industry, building a range of yachts capable of combining sportiness, comfort and elegance. With the new Tender Division, the shipyard takes a further step forward, structuring an offering dedicated to owners, captains, yacht managers and shipyards seeking solutions capable of going beyond simple operational functionality.

Every project within the new division is developed with an atelier-style approach: layouts, materials, finishes, equipment and configurations are defined case by case, according to the operational profile, the aesthetics of the mothership and the owner’s preferences.

"We want to enter a segment where the tender plays an essential role within the onboard experience," said Corrado Piccinelli, founder and CEO of FIM. "The TT9 Open has been developed to meet precise operational requirements while maintaining build quality, aesthetic attention and navigation comfort."

The carbon structure of the TT9 Open is not an aesthetic choice, but a technical response: it reduces overall weight and increases hull rigidity, with direct benefits in terms of performance and manoeuvrability. The helm station has been designed to ensure immediate control, optimal visibility and precision during manoeuvres. In terms of deck layout, the tender balances operational efficiency and hospitality. At the stern, opposing seats and a central walkway facilitate boarding and disembarkation operations; forward, dedicated seating areas ensure comfort during guest transfers. Configurations may include specific solutions for protection from sun and weather conditions.

The first TT9 Open unit has already been sold and will be assigned to a 70-metre superyacht. The tailor-made approach of the new division is already reflected in projects currently under development. The TT9 Limo is configured to offer greater protection and privacy during guest transfers, while the TX9 Taxi Tender is designed for high-end hotel and hospitality environments, where transportation becomes an integral part of the guest experience.

"Our goal is to develop tenders that are fully integrated into the onboard experience," emphasized Manuela Barcella, founder and CEO of FIM, "through tailor-made solutions capable of interpreting operational requirements, aesthetics and the owner’s identity."

Among the shipyard’s founding partners is also Vannis Marchi, entrepreneur and co-founder of the Liu Jo brand, who supports the company’s development in the international boating market.

With the launch of the Tender Division, Fabbrica Italiana Motoscafi further consolidates its vision: building boats that do not simply navigate, but tell a story.
