Sigo Marine has reported positive feedback after successfully introducing its new Sigo 50 Explorer and further on-going projects at this year’s boot Dusseldorf.

The Ukrainian-based shipyard showcased its new 50-foot steel Explorer motoryacht, in addition to the fly-bridge-style Sigo 50 Classic, which is currently in build, as well as the concept of the Sigo 20m.

Featuring a distinctive hull construction with a bulbous bow for reduced drag, both Sigo 50 Series models offer an extended sailing range, improved fuel efficiency and maximum living space for true comfort and easy management.

The first hull of the Sigo 50 Explorer is currently berthed in Valencia, Spain, after completing a 3000nm trans-Mediterranean voyage which included debuts at the Genoa and Barcelona International Boat Shows in 2014.

Well known as an established builder of workboats and commercial vessels, Sigo Marine was delighted with the reaction of visitors to the stand during the nine-day exhibition in Dusseldorf.

Sasha Malysh, spokesperson for Sigo Marine, said: “It was very important for us to attend boot Dusseldorf to establish our place as a builder of pleasure yachts among all the other boats at the show. We found it extremely beneficial in introducing both our new yachts and our shipyard to many more people and it was also very interesting to discuss the boats with other exhibitors.

“The first reaction from people when they see the interior of the Sigo 50 Explorer is that it looks like a house. People immediately notice the amount of space and height and how comfortable it is, plus the quality finishing and carpentry work. There were a lot of comments at the show about how solid and stable it looks.

“A lot of the interest was regarding the yacht’s suitability for Northern and Scandinavian climates, as it is designed to be closed in and to remain warm inside. The bulbous bow was another talking point as it is unusual for a yacht of this type and size.

“Visitors were also surprised about how reasonable the price of the Explorer is, which reflects the fact that we can offer European quality with Ukrainian prices.”

The Sigo 50 Series steel twin screw, round-bilge, displacement motor yachts are designed by Ginton Naval Architects BV with Bureau Veritas Class A classification and are ideal for long-range autonomous navigation. At a speed of 6.5 knots, the yachts have the ability to complete an Atlantic crossing with a maximum range of 2,690nm, while at a full speed of 9.5 knots the range is 1,180nm.

The 8-berth, 15 metre motor yacht is available in two modifications: the Sigo 50 Explorer, which features a closed wheel house for protection from the elements, and the Sigo 50 Classic with an open steering area for a more spacious exterior recreational deck and a fly-bridge-style profile.

The project Sigo 20, also designed by Ginton Naval Architects BV, features similar characteristics to the 50-foot models, with a long sailing range and the most modern ship systems and equipment.

Sigo 50 Series yachts are designed in accordance with the Recreational Craft Directive 94/25/EC as amended by 2003/44/EC. More information can be found at www.sigo-yacht.com.
